KerryEdwards.com Buyers Get Second Chance

The widely publicized auction of the domain name KerryEdwards.com ended Saturday night, but the search for a new owner continues. According to Matt Bentley, CEO of Sedo.com, the domain name brokerage managing the sale, a key bidder withdrew at a late stage in the auction, leaving the domain up for grabs among the dozen or so parties who had expressed a serious interest in purchasing the domain.

“We are currently in discussions with several interested parties, and hope to have a sale completed within the next few days”, Bentley said from the firm’s Cambridge headquarters. Although terms of the discussions are not being disclosed, Bentley indicated that it was likely that the domain would change hands “at a significant discount” to the previous high bid of $150,000.

The domain name KerryEdwards.com, registered over two years ago by an Indianapolis bail bondsman named Kerry Edwards, suddenly became a hot piece of Internet real estate when Democratic Presidential nominee John Kerry selected Senator John Edwards as his running mate in July.
