NeuStar Names Steven Edwards General Manager, Senior Vice President of Converged Addressing Services

NeuStar, Inc. today announced that it has appointed Steven J. Edwards as general manager and senior vice president of Converged Addressing Services group. Edwards will lead NeuStar's ENUM-related business initiatives, including WMRS, the wireless message routing service; SIP-IX, which enables direct network-to-network peering via Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based technologies; and NRS, the number resolution service that NeuStar manages on behalf of the GSM Association.

"Steve is a seasoned telecom executive with tremendous insight into technologies, such as VoIP and wireless, that will form the basis for NeuStar's future growth and expansion," said Lisa Hook, president and chief operating officer at NeuStar. "He has significant management, marketing, and sales channel expertise across a wide variety of corporate cultures and organizations. NeuStar will rely heavily on Steve as we seek to penetrate new markets for our addressing solutions and services."

Prior to joining NeuStar, Edwards was chief operating officer at Regenesis Power LLC, a California-based renewable energy venture. While there, he had operational responsibility for all aspects of the enterprise, including its business model, operating infrastructure, customer contracts, and project financing. Previously, Edwards served as chief marketing officer for Sonus Networks Inc., a Massachusetts-based market leader in carrier-grade VoIP technology that services both wireline and wireless services providers. He also was vice president of indirect sales and channel development at AT&T Business Services, and was president of BT Visual Images, a BT Group company focused on the design and distribution of videoconferencing systems.

"I am honored to join the Neustar team and to take a leadership role in the development and market deployment of converged addressing solutions," said Edwards. "Neustar is in a unique position to extend its market leadership assisting service providers across the globe to embrace next generation IP services and new business models."
