Over 5000 .BANK Domain Names Registered by U.S. Banks

fTLD Registry Services, the operator of .BANK top-level domain, reports that nearly seven months after .BANK launched, U.S. banks are continuing to register domain names. Based on data form November 30, 2015, the organization reports 5,165 .BANK domain names have been registered in the U.S. by 2,534 banks. Additionally, 560 domain names have been registered outside the U.S. Only verified members of the global banking community are eligible to register the domain.

In early 2016, fTLD, which is a coalition of banks, insurance companies and financial services trade associations from around the world, is planning to release several case studies on banks that have transitioned to .BANK as well as documents on best practices.
