16 .mobi premium names to be made available at Moniker's T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East Auction on May 23, 2008

As part of its ongoing series of unique methods of allocating Internet domain names, dotMobi — the company behind the .mobi web address for mobile phones — is bringing 16 "premium names" to market at Moniker's T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East Auction on May 23, 2008.

To help drive interest in — and visits to — the mobile web sites of brands and businesses around the world, dotMobi has chosen to bring names to market that represent a wide range of interests. The domain names to be auctioned at this event are airlines.mobi, boats.mobi, company.mobi, computers.mobi, drugs.mobi, escort.mobi, films.mobi, forsale.mobi, men.mobi, mortgage.mobi, records.mobi, religion.mobi, ringtone.mobi, sales.mobi, show.mobi, and strip.mobi.

Any company or individual will be able to bid on the dotMobi premium names offered at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East, either in person or by telephone. For auction registration details, click here. The auction rules will follow Moniker's auction terms and conditions. dotMobi also has minimal requirements for the buyer, including:

• Domain to be registered by auction winner within 10 days of receiving authorization code
• Site to initially consist of a dotMobi compliant parking page
• Best efforts to create, launch and operate a live web site with relevant content within six months. For example, acupuncture.mobi should not display a site for car sales.
• Fully compliant site with an http://ready.mobi score of at least 4/5 (highest score is 5/5).
