Sedo's Nanayakkara Elected to Nominet's PAB

Sedo

Sedo business development director Nona Nanayakkara has been elected to Nominet's Policy Advisory Body (PAB) to help guide future policy for .uk domain holders and channel feedback from its 2,800 members.

Nora's unique background of direct contact with thousands of .uk end-users (domain traders, registrars, venture capitalists, content developers, ad providers, SEO agencies, marketing/branding groups and small businesses) enable her to capture a broad range of Nominet members' needs and requirements.

Nominet is undergoing a period of policy and structural change at a time of exciting growth and dynamism for the .uk domain name industry. Nora will work with appropriate parties in both the primary and secondary markets to ensure this continued development.

As a PAB member, her goals will include:

  • Greater member participation
  • Promotion of .uk usage
  • Education of users and members
  • A higher-profile Nominet
  • Changes to DRS procedure, for greater diversity on the DRS expert panel and for the rejection of poor quality, invalid/incomplete complaint
  • Development of the domain industry and education about opportunities presented by both the primary and secondary domain name markets

"Having worked hand in hand with Nominet for a number of years, I'm thrilled to have been elected to the organisation's Policy Advisory Body," commented Sedo's Nora Nanayakkara. "As the .uk domain ecosystem continues to grow and thrive, I'm excited to help align the interests of its many stakeholders."
