Launch of nv.mobi represents first use of a two-letter domain by a state to market itself to travelers via mobile phones
dotMobi, the company behind .mobi — the only Internet address created specifically for locating content that works on all mobile phones — today announced the allocation of the first two-letter mobile Internet domain to the Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT): http://nv.mobi.
Representing its official state abbreviation, nv.mobi joins the Nevada Commission on Tourism's already successful http://nvski.mobi and http://nvroads.mobi sites in extending their "Travel Nevada" program to the mobile phone. All formal applicants will then be required to complete a proposal and contract process.
