RomanCart Selects NeuStar UltraDNS Managed DNS Service

NeuStar, Inc. today announced that RomanCart, an online company specializing in hosted "shopping cart" applications for e-commerce websites around the world, has selected NeuStar's UltraDNS Managed DNS Service to enhance the performance of its solution.

RomanCart allows enterprises to enable their websites for order-taking in a matter of minutes with a simple cut-and-paste. It is currently used by over 31,000 online stores around the globe, and can work in any currency or language. Earlier this year, RomanCart performed a comprehensive review of its infrastructure and identified its in-house DNS as a potential vulnerability.

"Our business is Shopping Carts, not DNS — so it makes sense for us to use NeuStar UltraDNS, which specializes in DNS and is recognized for its reliability," said Simon Leigh, chief executive officer at RomanCart. "Furthermore, we wanted good customer support and a company with similar, existing e-commerce clients. With the Managed DNS Service, we do not need to spend time managing our own DNS systems. This frees us up to work on the core revenue-generating development of our systems."

The reliability and minimized resolution latency of NeuStar's UltraDNS Managed DNS Service are achieved in part by the implementation of advanced routing techniques. The service employs advanced IP Anycast technology to power a global mesh of redundant, fail-safe nodes.

"We welcome RomanCart to our growing portfolio of online technology service providers that benefit from the enhanced reliability and performance of our UltraDNS Managed Services," said Alex Berry, senior vice president of NeuStar's Internet Infrastructure service group. "RomanCart's Shopping Cart greatly simplifies the development of online stores, and we're delighted our UltraDNS Managed DNS Services is contributing to their success."
