dotMobi Announces 2.1 Release of Award-Winning DeviceAtlas Mobile Device Database

dotMobi, the company behind the .mobi Internet domain and the mobiForge mobile web developer forum, today announced that the 2.1 version of DeviceAtlas™—the world's most comprehensive mobile development database—is now available.

DeviceAtlas 2.1 includes a number of key features, including data analytics and improved search capabilities. These innovative features join recent technical enhancements like automated phone capability tests and the ability to download personalized versions of the database.

DeviceAtlas 2.1 also heralds the introduction of market leaders Motorola and Sprint as forthcoming contributors of device data to the DeviceAtlas database alongside other best-of-breed companies, including Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Vodafone and Bango. With DeviceAtlas, developers are able to work more closely with both handset manufacturers, and mobile operators to create "device aware" content with the most up-to-date information available.

Trey Harvin, CEO of dotMobi, said, "With DeviceAtlas, we have created the most complete database of handset data out there. The addition of Motorola's device data ensures the comprehensiveness of DeviceAtlas. Sprint's participation in DeviceAtlas complements that carrier's industry-leading open approach to working with application developers through the Sprint Application Developer Program and Professional Developer Program."

"With more registered users than any other mobile device database—and now with new features and enhanced search—developers can rest assured that they are building the mobile Web properly, easily and cost effectively," said Paul Nerger, dotMobi's Vice President of Advanced Services and Applications.

Pricing

dotMobi will continue to offer free DeviceAtlas licenses to developers and extremely low pricing for smaller businesses along with special enterprise-level licensing and support to meet the unique demands of the largest Web sites on the market.

More information on enterprise-level licensing and support options is available via email at contact@dotMobi.mobi. Information on DeviceAtlas 2.1—including the free Web-based version and free, fully licensed version for developers—is available at http://deviceatlas.com.
