Internet Domain Industry Veteran Pinky Brand Appointed as Director of dotMobi Global Domain Sales

dotMobi, the company behind the .mobi Internet domain, today announced that industry veteran Pinkard Alan "Pinky" Brand has been appointed to the position of Director of Global Domain Sales at dotMobi.

Brand, who has more than 12 years experience in the domain industry, is charged with building the ongoing use of the .mobi domain, designed to help consumers find content that works on mobile phones. In his role, Brand will work closely with the more than 135 .mobi registrars throughout the world as well as with domain investors to help ensure that .mobi continues its role as the primary naming convention for locating mobile content.

Brand's domain industry experience includes leading the market development efforts for the Digital Brand Management Services (DBMS) business unit at VeriSign, serving as Vice President of Marketing for Iron Mountain's Domain Name Management Services and co-founding two domain name registrar and portfolio management companies that counted the world's most recognized trademark holders as clients.

Brand, who will be based in dotMobi's Dublin headquarters, holds a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin.
