Mícheál Ó Foghlú has been the Research Director of the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) in Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) since 2004 and was one of the co-founders of the TSSG in 1996. This is one of the most successful ICT research centres in Ireland with over €42m in funding from 1996-2008, over 120 staff, over 100 projects with over 40 currently active, the largest EU IST funding in Ireland in both FP6 and FP7, and leading Irish success for commercialising research with the support of Enterprise Ireland. He is also the Director of the Irish National IPv6 Centre (Irish National IPv6 Task Force), chair of the Irish National IPv6 Task Force (Irish National IPv6 Centre) and a Lecturer in the Department of Computing, Mathematics & Physics in Waterford IT.
