NeuStar today announced that two million domain names have been officially registered within the .BIZ Internet domain. NeuStar is the operator and administrator of the .BIZ top-level domain (TLD) registry, and was awarded the contract by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

NeuStar has played an active role in the consistent growth and usage of .BIZ over the past several years. In particular, NeuStar has driven international adoption of .BIZ by offering Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) in 15 different languages.

This registration milestone coincides with ICANN’s announcement that it will begin accepting applications for new TLDs next year. NeuStar is already working closely with prospective new TLD applicants who demand a technically superior registry solution, extremely competitive and flexible pricing, marketing incentives, and a streamlined start-up process that will speed time- to-market. Having been successful in each of the previous selection rounds for new TLDs both directly and as a back-end technical registry partner, and as an active participant in the new TLD policy process at ICANN, NeuStar is uniquely qualified to assist prospective applicants with navigating ICANN’s application process.
