Afilias Announces Sunrise Launch Dates for 3 New TLDs: .PINK, .RED and .BLUE

Global registry services provider Afilias today announced the sunrise launch dates for three new generic top-level domains (gTLD): .PINK, .RED and .BLUE

With the .PINK, .RED and .BLUE domains, Afilias is the first registry to offer truly colorful ways to express yourself on the Internet. No longer are site owners restrained to drab domain addresses. Now, your Web address can express your individual enthusiasms!

“Afilias has a long history of launching innovative new gTLDs,” said Roland LaPlante, Senior Vice President and CMO, Afilias. “From the successful launch of the .INFO domain—the first and most popular new gTLD ever—to the new ‘color’ domains we’re releasing, Afilias has brought more consumer choice and variety than any other domain provider.”

Afilias – the first to bring color to the Internet!

.PINK addresses embrace a wide range of uses, from the lighthearted fun of baby furnishings and toys to the simmering sensuality of lingerie products to the compassion and courage of cancer caregivers and patients. Young women—and men—of all ages love the optimism of .PINK and can now have a business or personal name that expresses their “pink-itude.” Finally, you can show the world that you “Think .PINK!”

On the other hand, .RED brings the heat to everything you’re passionate about! Like red lipstick, a red dress or a little red sports car, the color red brings intensity to whatever it touches. And the .RED domain does the same for websites. Share your interests, causes and points of view on a .RED site. Want to make a bold fashion statement? Use .RED. In love? Show it with .RED. Fighting evil? Do it in .RED. When you need to heat up your Web presence, no other domain will do: Make it .RED hot!

Blue is the world’s most popular color and the .BLUE domain lets you show that you’re “True .BLUE.” From the calm of the ocean to the top of the sky, blue is an attention grabber that elicits positive, peaceful emotions such as harmony, strength and loyalty. The .BLUE domain also conveys safety, reliability and trustworthiness; think about the “boys in blue” or the “blue angels.” And .BLUE is ideal for organizations and campaigns focusing on water-related issues like conservation, availability and safety.

Getting a New Top-Level Domain

Today begins the 30-day minimum notice period of the Start Date sunrise for these three new TLDs being launched by Afilias. During sunrise, domains will be awarded in a “first come, first served” manner; however, eligibility during this period is limited strictly to trademark holders whose marks are registered in the Trademark Clearinghouse. Once the general availability period opens, everyone will be eligible to register addresses with these gTLDs.

.PINK – Sunrise start is Mar 11, 2014; sunrise ends on Apr 10, 2014
.RED – Sunrise start is Mar 11, 2014; sunrise ends on Apr 10, 2014
.BLUE – Sunrise start is Mar 14, 2014; sunrise ends on Apr 13, 2014

General availability will follow the close of sunrise.
