.ORG, The Public Interest Registry Hires Paul Diaz as Director of Policy

Paul Diaz Director of Policy, PIRToday, .ORG, The Public Interest Registry (PIR)—manager of the world’s third largest generic top-level domain—announced the hiring of Paul Diaz as Director of Policy. A tenured representative of public policy and government advocacy, Diaz brings nearly two decades of policy development and analysis experience to the PIR policy team.

Prior to joining PIR, Mr. Diaz spent over 12 years as Senior Policy Manager for Network Solutions, where he led policy development and compliance initiatives that impacted the company’s corporate objectives as they related to new TLDs, ICANN consensus policies and industry regulations. During his tenure, Mr. Diaz was also instrumental in acting as the company’s voice of governmental advocacy through presenting various issues to Congress and Executive branch agencies.

Mr. Diaz’ experience in the domain name industry, government advocacy and policy development brings tangible value to PIR and its continued commitment to promoting a safe and open Internet as well as acting as an advocate for various global Internet governance initiatives.

In addition to working to promote fair policy among the .ORG and domain name communities, Mr. Diaz will also be tasked with leading various Internet security initiatives and curbing domain name system abuse. Through his advocacy work, he will represent the best interests of the .ORG and larger web communities to ensure the Internet continues on its path to a truly open, safe and global online environment.
