SurfControl Selects NeuStar to Enhance Security, Compliance and Business Continuity Offerings

NeuStar, Inc., a provider of essential clearinghouse and directory services to the global telecommunications and Internet industry, today announced that SurfControl, the leading provider of global on-demand, network and endpoint IT security solutions for email, enterprise networks and the Web, has selected NeuStar's Managed External DNS to strengthen its security, compliance and productivity offerings.

"We chose NeuStar Ultra Services for a level of security and reliability we couldn't achieve with traditional DNS systems," said Max Rayner, executive vice president for products and services at SurfControl. "DNS is at the very heart of the unified threat protection solutions we provide to our customers globally. Our companies share a deep understanding of the importance of ironclad network security, and we both work diligently to ensure the success of our customers with unparalleled levels of service."

NeuStar's Managed DNS service adds significant redundancy to SurfControl's overall network and Internet services. NeuStar's unprecedented internetworking reliability and minimized resolution latency are achieved in part by the implementation of advanced routing techniques. Managed DNS Service employs advanced IP Any cast Technology to power a global mesh of redundant, fail-safe nodes. All DNS requests are directed to and processed by the topologically closest NeuStar server, ensuring the fastest DNS name resolution response times and seamless failover capabilities. NeuStar's DNS capabilities assist SurfControl in their multiple Data Centers rollouts, providing real time propagation of DNS changes worldwide.

"We are pleased that SurfControl chose to leverage NeuStar's high- performance DNS infrastructure to facilitate the fastest and most reliable experience for customers accessing SurfControl's on-demand security services," said Ben Petro, senior vice president of NeuStar Ultra Services. "SurfControl's decision to outsource such a critical infrastructure component highlights the necessity of a highly secure, robust DNS infrastructure to provide on-demand services on a global scale."
