Eräkangas is a 20-year veteran as a business angel investor, advisor, and board member for several different computer-based companies in Finland. She is also the co-founder of Basware, a Finnish e-commerce company that is listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

"TLD Registry is the most promising business case operating in the arena of expanding internet utilization, and quickly developing Chinese-speaking markets," Eräkangas said. "As I have experience on several start-ups and growth seeking companies, TLD Registry's shareholders asked me to lead the board of directors to support the management in exploiting this opportunity."

Koponen joins the TLD Registry board as the former CEO of Sonera, the largest tele-operator in Scandinavia. He was also the right-hand man at Sony Ericsson, as well as the COO of entertainment media company Rovio, which is responsible for creating the popular mobile game "Angry Birds."

As a new board member, Koponen will also implement his extensive leadership experience into the many development aspects of TLD Registry's business model.

"TLD Registry's direct communication channel to companies and their Chinese customers will better connect them to our high-potential and very promising Chinese domain names," Koponen said.

Tuovinen is a partner and co-founder of TLD Registry's original venture capital source, Vision+. Aside from being a serial entrepreneur and investor, Tuovinen also has substantial knowledge and experience in both software development and computer technology.

TLD Registry CEO Arto Isokoski believes that the addition of the new board members will provide a stepping-stone to the next level of successful business.

"I'm confident that the addition of these individuals to the board will continue to maintain the excellent governance and advising for TLD Registry to continue seeing success," Isokoski said. "The experience, knowledge, and expertise that the new board provides to TLD Registry will only make our business stronger."
