Kevin Murphy reporting in DomainIncite: "Last month, the Republican National Committee and the Republican State Leadership Committee submitted comments to ICANN arguing that Demand would be an unsuitable custodian for the gTLD [.republican]. Demand is best known for its "unofficial, mediocre and sometimes incorrect" content farms, such as eHow, the letter (pdf) said..."

You MIGHT NOT believe this!
republican.US.COM is owned by portfolio-manager.org … and the Regesistrant there is TheNextRevolution.net … and look here, at the end of the rainbow, who do we find? ...
Current Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Here's a quote from CentralNic, when they signed up eNom ... https://www.centralnic.com/company/news/2004/eNom
"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
If you've been wanting to register "whatever.com" and it hasn't been available, you might just be able to get "whatever.us.com" in its place. These unrestricted domain names are now widely available on a first come first serve basis."
"eNom, one of the largest ICANN Accredited Domain Name Registrars, has introduced a series of two-letter, geo-specific, domain names. These domain names, made possible by CentralNic , a private London Based domain name registry, include US.COM, EU.COM, UK.COM, CN.COM, RU.COM, DE.COM & twelve others that represent the worlds most populated countries."
Well, it looks to me like CentralNic have involved themselves in "contributory infringement" with enom, who are "accommodating - contributory infringement".
It looks like both Republican National Committee and the Republican State Leadership Committee had good reason to make this request!
Hey Jones Day, how about explaining to ICANN that this really, really is a request that they shouldn't ignore!
Best wishes, Pro Se.
and republican.us.com - or yourdogsname.us.com for that matter - are subdomains, probably associated with an email address like republican@us.com or fido@us.com
Subdomains are absolutely nothing to do with icann. If you think republican.us.com is an issue you can go and complain to the provider that runs us.com
Hi Suresh:
You might want to study some internet industry history, along with US Law, before you put forth an opinion!
Research "Marks" then "Infringement" and "Contributory Infringement" followed by the relationship to the "DMCA & Red Flags" then consider the time-line, which leads to "Knowing" then look into the rules published by ICANN, (rules never followed ~ willful blindness) followed by an investigation into the above mentioned's history, as it relates to ...

Puzzled? Read "Schreiber V Dunabin et al" and it'll become slightly clearer.
If your an owner of Intellectual Property, you'll be thankful for the United States, US Law's and the Justice System they offer.
FYI ... Not just for American's, but anybody, who own's IP. I'm Canadian & the 1st & 2nd Defendants are both domiciled in the UK, but subject to Global Cyberspace Law, housed & managed from the USA.
Cheer's Graham.
Don't be dotconned - Buying up domain names is a mug's game, says Jamie Doward.
