The article in WIRED wasn't exact when highlighting some of the topics.
First of all dotBERLIN is not driven by a single business man, the management team meanwhile consists of five people, all with expertise and a background in the IT and domain business. Our business partners are CORE (Back-End Registry and consulting), the Ex-PWC lawyers, and others.
Secondly the application for .berlin is based on a partnership company whose members are organisations and individuals from administration, business, science, welfare, culture, sports and the civil society. These members are associations, councils, chambers, societies, foundations, companies, other organisations, and individual citizens from locations with the name Berlin. They are the sponsoring community of the .berlin TLD and will be owner of .berlin after its approval by ICANN.
