Customers who register domain names with these extensions through Hostway will pay only $3.98 for the first year of registration for a .info domain name and $19 for one year of .mobi registration.

Released in 2001, .info was the first unrestricted top-level domain (TLD) name since .com. Anyone can register a .info domain name for almost any purpose. Earlier this year, the extension passed 4 million registrations, making it one of the most popular extensions on the Internet today. Last month, the name "travel.info" sold for $116,000 in the aftermarket auction, highlighting the rising demand for .info names.

The first TLD specific to the mobile Internet, .mobi, was released last year to encourage people to access the Internet on their hand-held devices. Only Web sites that meet the standards for easy mobile Web surfing qualify for a .mobi domain name. For example, pages must identify the target and file format of each link, allow the visitor to reach the site without typing "www," automatically sense the device type and respond with an appropriate Web page.
