Note that an SD or HD channel does not use the full 6 megahertz when it’s digital. You can fit 10 to 12 SD channels or three, even possibly four HD channels in 6 megahertz.
So removing Al Jazeera didn’t give them another 38 Mbps of downstream bandwidth.

Fair point: compression techniques make it possible to load more than 1 video channel in a channel with 6 MHz. My main point is that there’s plenty of bandwidth for reassignment to data services.
