DeviceAtlas Brings Device Awareness to HAProxy

DeviceAtlas, the market leader for device detection software, today announced the immediate availability of its device detection capabilities within HAProxy, the world's most widely used load balancing and proxying solution.

Trusted Device Detection Partner – DeviceAtlas has led the way in device detection and intelligence since 2008. Leading companies across multiple industry verticals build their business on DeviceAtlas. Its robust, high performance APIs are deployed in demanding environments, providing a competitive advantage to organizations who demand the very best solution to differentiate their businesses. Leran MoreDynAdmic, which specializes in targeted video advertising, is the first company to adopt the DeviceAtlas-enhanced HAProxy service in order to enhance its support of accurate, fast and reliable video ad targeting on mobile and other connected devices.

Baptiste Assman, product manager of HAProxy Technologies, comments, "DeviceAtlas' speed, performance, accuracy, device coverage and range of features make it the ideal choice of partner for both our Community and Enterprise editions. Our customers were looking for a top quality device detection feature, so we are delighted to partner with the premium device data provider, DeviceAtlas, to bring device detection capabilities to HAProxy."

According to Bruno Champion, CEO of DynAdmic, "We chose the DeviceAtlas and HA Proxy solution as the best available solution to enable user segmentation based on device characteristics, and to facilitate delivery of video content tailored to the visitor's device capabilities. The solution also makes it possible to capture user metrics for web analytics purposes."

DeviceAtlas' patented technology provides high performance, real-time device detection and identification. With DeviceAtlas capabilities at the load balancing layer, HAProxy users can access rich device data for the entire server configuration, rather than just at application level, making the web architecture much more flexible. HAProxy users can now segment and analyze web traffic based on detailed device information.

"We're delighted to work with HAProxy, a trusted, open source load balancing solution used by some of the world's largest websites today. DeviceAtlas has become a powerful tool in HAProxy users' toolbox to help improve website performance and UX at the server level," said Ronan Cremin, CTO of DeviceAtlas.

Data points provided free of charge include device type (desktop, tablet, mobile, etc.), OS and OS version, browser and browser version, and browser rendering engine. A full property set is available through a commercial license.

Afilias Technologies will be exhibiting at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain Feb 22-25, 2016 (Hall 8.1, stand D11)
