Rodney Joffe on Security Vulnerabilities of Modern Automobiles

Rodney Joffe, Senior Technologist at Neustar, explains that vehicles (beginning with 1998 models) are vulnerable to hacking, but manufacturers have been unable to fix the problem. In the video below, Joffe goes over some of the challenge to cars and the possible threats that exist for other machines connected to a network.

Wow, this is a good argument for older cars! Glad my two BMWs are not connected to the Internet. Although BMW electronics are known to fail—perhaps it’s the lowest bidder mentality mentioned here!
