Today, 13 June, in London is the international unveiling of applied-for domain names under ICANN's new top level domain (TLD) programme. This marks the next phase in one of the most significant developments in the history of the Internet.
ICANN will announce which companies, organisations, start-ups, geographical regions and others have applied for TLDs and what those domains are. ICANN has received over 1,900 applications from around the world including TLDs that Sedari has assisted such as .AFRICA, .APP, .CITY and the IDN .MOCKBA.
Liz Williams, Sedari CEO says: "This is a great event to be a part of. It's been a long road getting here and we hope now that the evaluation stage will be swift and efficient. In particular with just a handful of companies providing the registry back-end to all applicants there is huge potential for synergy in evaluating the technical part. If Provider A gets a full score once, it does not need to be evaluated another 900 times!"
Sedari is a consulting and technology company focusing on TLD operations for applicants who want to run their own registry. Sedari guides new TLD applicants through the entire continuum of ICANN's application process and, most importantly, provides a robust fully outsourced Registry Services Management Platform to help string owners run their top-level domains over the long term.
