Neustar UltraDNS Basic Launches Add-On Services for Website Monitoring and DNS Server Failover

Neustar Inc., a trusted, neutral provider of real-time information and analysis to Internet, telecommunications, entertainment, advertising and marketing industries, announced today two new add on services for UltraDNS Basic, the company's low-cost version of its managed DNS solution. UltraDNS Basic customers can now add Site Monitoring and automatic Site Failover, both easy, effective ways to boost website performance and reliability.

"Our Site Monitoring service provides external website monitoring, which allows you to quickly react to slow-loading pages and website outages, reducing the impact on your website visitors," said Rhonda Lee, Neustar Market Manager. "Our DNS-based Site Failover service is the obvious automatic backup plan. If the active monitors detect that your site is unavailable, the service automatically routes traffic to your backup server until the primary server is available again."

UltraDNS Basic customers automatically have access to the new services. The Services can be easily activated through a customer's management interface for an additional fee at the time of activation. This "in-app" purchase model offers greater convenience for customers, allowing them to order and configure services on demand.

"Neustar offers UltraDNS Basic to growing businesses in need of a lower-cost but powerful managed DNS solution. Our customers enjoy highly reliable and secure performance, and a user-friendly management tool, all backed by Neustar's trusted expertise in managed DNS", said John Crotty, Neustar product manager. "These new integrated add-on services give our UltraDNS Basic customers the ability to easily manage, and have greater control over the reliability and performance of their websites."
