Minds + Machines, a wholly owned registry services business of Top Level Domain Holdings Limited (AIM:TLDH.L), has been appointed by India TL Domain Pvt Ltd ("ITLD"), with the exclusive approval of the city of Bruhat Bangaluru (Bangalore), to provide registry and consulting services for ITLD's proposed application for the generic top-level domain .BANGALURU.

Under the agreement with ITLD, Minds+Machines will joint venture with ITLD on the development and running of the dot bangaluru domain for the city of Bangalore.

The city of Bangalore has 6 million inhabitants and is known as the "Silicon Valley" of India. It currently accounts for more than 35 percent of India's software exports and it is the city's ambition that the dot city top level domain will greatly enhance the its reputation as a global centre of IT development, stimulating commerce both within and into the city.

In a letter to the Board of Directors of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), The Mayor of Bruhat Bangaluru, wrote: "This letter is to confirm that Bruhat Bangaluru Mahanagara Palike's office fully supports the application for dot Bangaluru submitted to ICANN by India TL Domain Pvt Ltd in the new gTLDG program. As the Mayor of Bruhat Bangalore I confirm I have the authority of the Bruhat Bangaluru to be writing to you on this matter."

Peter Dengate Thrush, Chairman of TLDH, commented: "We applaud the foresighted approach of the Mayor's office.
