MarkMonitor, the global leader in enterprise brand protection, announced today the company will be offering a series of webinars focusing on trademark law and brand holder rights in the Internet age. The webinar series will feature noted trademark law authority, Anne Gilson LaLonde, to educate companies on the changing landscape of brand holder rights online.
LaLonde, author of Gilson on Trademarks, will lead the webinar series co-hosted by MarkMonitor and LexisNexis. The first webinar will clarify the present state of the law on challenges to keyword buys and analyze the evolving search engine keyword buy policies with their complaint procedures. LaLonde will also address the "use in commerce" issue and whether it was resolved by the Second Circuit's opinion in Rescuecom v. Google.
LaLonde has written articles and spoken on a variety of trademark law issues, including cybersquatting, counterfeiting, the Madrid Protocol, non-traditional trademarks and special problems arising from fan-related content. She graduated from the University of Michigan School of Law after serving as Book Review Editor of the Michigan Law Review. LaLonde practiced at Sidley & Austin in Washington, D.C. in the firm's Litigation Practice Group before her two-year judicial clerkship with Judge Norma Holloway Johnson at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. She is a member of the Illinois and District of Columbia bars and the bar of the United States Supreme Court.
