Dennis Dayman has more than 17 years of experience combating spam, security issues, and improving email delivery through industry policy, ISP relations and technical solutions. As Eloqua’s Chief Privacy Officer, Dayman leverages his experience and key relationships with the major receivers to provide best practices to Eloqua customers and ensure the deliverability and compliance of their communications data flows.

Prior to Eloqua, Dayman worked at StrongMail Systems as the Director of Deliverability, Privacy, and Standards within operations. In that role, he handled all deliverability and privacy issues related to StrongMail customers and made best practice recommendations as StrongMail’s representative to a cross-industry alliance of ESPs, ISPs, online marketers and spam-filtering companies. He was also charged with ensuring that new email standards were created and instituted for the protection of legitimate email delivery.

Dayman has also served in the Internet Security and Legal compliance division for Verizon Online, as a senior consultant at Mail Abuse Prevention Systems (MAPS), and started his career as Director of Policy and Legal External Affairs for Southwestern Bell Global, now AT&T;. In the ISP roles, Dayman investigated complaints of network abuse, managed discoveries and litigation, worked with the federal task force on e-crimes, and represented the company in relation to new federal and state legislation.

As a longstanding member of several boards within the messaging industry, including serving on the Board of Director’s, Program Committee, and the Sender SIG chair for the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG), Secretary/Treasurer for Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email (CAUCE), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) Advisory Board, Dayman is actively involved in creating current Internet and telephony regulations, privacy policies and anti-spam legislation laws for state and federal governments. He also sits on several advisory boards for Internet companies such as Returnpath, Karmasphere, SocialCalendar, and volunteers his time to non-profit organizations such as Working to Halt Online Abuse (WHOA): a volunteer organization founded to fight online harassment through education of the general public, education of law enforcement personnel, and empowerment of victims.

Dayman holds a B.A. in criminal justice and a minor in child psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
